General DescriptionThe DS3862isan octal high speed schottkybus transceiver
intendedfor usewith terminated 120Ω impedance lines.Itis
specifically designedto reduce noisein unbalanced trans-
mission systems. The open collector drivers generate pre-
cise trapezoidal waveforms withrise andfall timesof9ns
(typical), whichare relatively independentof capacitive load-
ing conditions onthe outputs.Thisreduces noisecouplingto
the adjacent lines without any appreciable impactonthe
maximum data rate obtainable with high speedbus trans-
ceivers.In addition, thereceiversusealow passfilterincon-
junction witha high speed comparator,to further enhance
the noise immunity. Tightly controlled threshold levelsonthe
receiver provideequalrejectionto both negative andpositive
going noise pulsesonthe bus.
The external terminationis intendedtobea 180Ω resistor
from thebusto5V logicsupply, togetherwitha 390Ωresistor
fromthebusto ground.Thebuscanbe terminated atoneor
both ends.
