General Description
The DS3680isa quad high voltage negative relay driver
designedto operate over wide rangesof supply voltage,
common-mode voltage, and ambient temperature, withmAsink capability. These driversare intendedfor switch-
ingthe groundendof loads whichare directly connectedto
the negative supply, suchasin telephone relay systems.
Since there maybe considerable noise andIR dropbe-
tween logic groundand negative supply groundin manyap-
plications, these driversare designedto operatewitha high
common-mode range (g20V referencedto negative supply
ground). Each driverhasa common-mode range separate
fromthe other driversinthe package, which pemits input
signals from more thanone elementofthe system.
With low differential input current requirements (typically
100 mA), these driversare compatible with TTL,LS and
CMOS logic. Differential inputs permit either invertingor
non-inverting operation.
The driver outputs incorporate transient suppression clamp
networks, which eliminatethe needfor external networks
when usedin applicationsof switching inductive loads.A
fail-safe featureis incorporatedto insure that,ifthe aIN
inputor both inputsare open,the driverwillbe OFF.
