General Description
The DS26C31isa quad differentialline driver designedfor
digital data transmission over balanced lines. The
DS26C31T meetsallthe requirementsof EIA standard
RS-422 while retainingthe low power characteristicsof
CMOS. The DS26C31Mis compatible with EIA standard
RS-422; however, oneexceptionintest methodologyistak- (see Note8). This enablesthe constructionof serialand
terminal interfaces while maintaining minimal power con-
sumption.
The DS26C31 accepts TTLor CMOS input levelsand trans-
lates theseto RS-422 output levels. This part uses special
output circuitrythat enablesthe driversto power down with-
out loading downthe bus. This devicehas enableanddis-
able circuitry commontoall four drivers. The DS26C31is
pin compatibletothe AM26LS31andthe DS26LS31.
All inputsare protected against damagedueto electrostatic
dischargeby diodesto VCCand ground.
