General DescriptionThe DAC0830isan advanced CMOS/Si-Cr 8-bit multiplying
DAC designedto interface directly withthe 8080, 8048,
8085, Z80®,and otherpopularmicroprocessors.A deposited
silicon-chromium R-2R resistor ladder network dividesthe
reference currentand provides thecircuitwith excellent tem-
perature tracking characteristics (0.05%ofFull Scale Range
maximum linearity error over temperature).The circuit uses
CMOS current switches and control logicto achievelow
power consumptionandlow output leakage current errors.
Special circuitry provides TTL logic input voltage level com-
patibility.
Double buffering allows these DACsto outputa voltagecor-
respondingtoone digital word while holdingthe next digital
word. This permitsthe simultaneous updating ofanynumber DACs.
The DAC0830 seriesarethe 8-bit membersofa familyof
microprocessor-compatible DACs (MICRO-DAC™).
