General DescriptionThe bq2002D/T Fast-ChargeIC are
low-costCMOS battery-charge control-
lers ableto provide reliable chargeter-
minationfor both NiCd and NiMH bat-
tery applications. Controllinga
current-limitedor constant-current
supply allowsthe bq2002D/Ttobethe
basisfora cost-effective stand-aloneor
system-integrated charger. The
bq2002D/T integrates fast charge with
optional top-off and pulsed-trickle con-
trolina singleICfor charging oneor
more NiCd orNiMH batterycells.
Fast chargeis initiatedon application the charging supplyor batteryre-
placement. For safety, fast chargeis
inhibitedif the battery temperature
and voltage are outside configured
limits.
Fast chargeis terminatedby anyof
