DescriptionThe ADS7886isa 12-bit, 1-MSPS analog-to-digital
converter (ADC). The device includesa capacitor
based SAR A/D converter with inherent sample and
hold. The serial interfacein each deviceis controlled the CS and SCLK signalsfor glueless connections
with microprocessors and DSPs. The input signalis
sampled with the falling edgeof CS, and SCLKis
used for conversion and serial data output.
The device operates froma wide supply range from
2.35Vto 5.25V. The low power consumptionof the
device makes it suitable for battery-powered
applications. The device also includesa power down
featurefor power savingat lower conversion speeds.
The high levelof the digital inputto the deviceis not
limitedto device VDD. This means the digital input canas high as 5.25V when device supplyis 2.35V.
This featureis useful when digital signals are coming
from other circuit with different supply levels. Also this
relaxes restrictionon power-up sequencing.
The ADS7886is availablein 6-pin SOT-23 and SC70
packages andis specifiedfor operation from –40°Cto
125°C.
