A/D converter with inherent sample and hold. The serial interfacein the deviceis controlledby the CS and SCLK
signals for glueless connections with microprocessors and DSPs. The input signalis sampled with the falling
edgeof CS, and SCLKis used for conversion and serial data output.
The device operates froma wide supply range from 2.7Vto 5.5V. The low power consumptionof the device
makesit suitable for battery-powered applications. The device also includesa power saving power-down feature
for when the deviceis operatedat lower conversion speeds.
The high levelof the digital inputto the deviceis not limitedto device VDD. Therefore the digital input cangoas
high as 5.5V when the device supplyis 2.7V. This featureis useful when digital signals are received from
another circuit with different supply levels. This also reduces restrictionson power-up sequencing.
The ADS7883is availableina 6-pin SOT23 package andis specifiedfor operation from –40°Cto 125°C.
