General DescriptionThe ADC1175-50isa low power,50 MSPS analog-to-digital
converter that digitizes signalsto8 bits while consuming just
125 mW (typ). The ADC1175-50 usesa unique architecture
that achieves 6.8 Effective Bits and25 MHz input and MHz clock frequency. Output formattingis straight binary
coding.
The excellent DC andAC characteristicsof this device,to-
gether withitslow power consumption and +5V singlesupply
operation, makeit ideally suitedfor many video and imaging
applications, including usein portable equipment. Further-
more, the ADC1175-50is resistantto latch-up and the out-
puts are short-circuit proof. The top and bottomof the
ADC1175-50’s reference ladderis availablefor connections,
enablinga wide rangeof input possibilities. The low inputca-
pacitance(7pF, typical) makes this device easierto drive
than conventional flash converters and the power down
mode reduces power consumptionto less than5 mW.
The ADC1175-50is offeredin SOIC (EIAJ) and TSSOP.Itis
designedto operate overthe commercial temperature range −20˚Cto +75˚C.
