General DescriptionThe ADC08351isan easyto use low power, low cost, small
size,42 MSPS analog-to-digital converter that digitizes sig-
nalsto8 bits. The ADC08351 usesan unique architecture
that achieves 7.2 Effective Bits witha 4.4 MHz input and MHz clock frequency and6.8 Effective Bits witha21 MHz
input and42 MHz clock frequency. Output formattingis
straight binary coding. minimize system cost and power consumption, the
ADC08351 requires minimal external components andin-
cludes input biasingto allow optional a.c. input signal cou-
pling. The user need only providea +3V supply anda clock.
Many applications requireno separate referenceor driver
components.
The excellentdc andac characteristicsof this device,to-
gether withitslow power consumption and +3V singlesupply
operation, makeit ideally suitedfor many video and imaging
applications, including usein portable equipment. Total
power consumptionis reducedto less than7 mWin the
power-down mode. Furthermore, the ADC08351is resistant latch-up and the outputs are short-circuit proof.
Fabricatedona 0.35 micron CMOS process,the ADC08351 offeredin TSSOP andis designedto operate over the
commercial temperature rangeof −20˚Cto +85˚C.
