General DescriptionThe ADC0808, ADC0809 data acquisition componentisa
monolithic CMOS devicewithan 8-bit analog-to-digital con-
verter, 8-channel multiplexerand microprocessorcompatible
control logic.The 8-bitA/D converter uses successiveap-
proximationasthe conversion technique.The converterfea-
turesa high impedance chopper stabilized comparator,a
256R voltage divider with analog switchtreeanda succes-
sive approximation register. The 8-channel multiplexercan
directly accessanyof 8-single-ended analog signals.
The device eliminatesthe needfor external zero and
full-scale adjustments. Easy interfacingto microprocessors providedbythe latchedand decoded multiplexer address
inputsand latchedTTL TRI-STATE® outputs.
The designofthe ADC0808, ADC0809has been optimized incorporatingthe most desirable aspectsof severalA/D
conversion techniques. TheADC0808,ADC0809 offers high
speed, high accuracy, minimal temperaturedependence,ex-
cellent long-term accuracyand repeatability,and consumes
minimal power. These features make this device ideally
suitedto applications from processand machine controlto
