The SN74ALVCHR16245 is designed for
asynchronous communication between data buses.
The control-function implementation minimizes
external timing requirements.
This device be usedas two 8-bit transceiversor
one 16-bitIt allows data transmission
from theAto theB busor from theB busto the bus, depending on the logic level at the
direction-control (DIR) input. The output-enable (OE)
input can usedto disable the device so that the
buses are isolated.
All outputs, are designedto sinkupto12 mA, include equivalent 26-Ω series resistorsto reduce overshoot
and undershoot. ensure high-impedance state during power up down, OE should be tiedtoVCC througha pullup
resistor; the valueof the resistoris determined the current-sinking capabilityof the driver.
Active bus-hold circuitry holds unusedor undriven inputsa valid logic state. Useof pullupor pulldown resistors
with the bus-hold circuitryis not recommended.
