Description and Introduction

30V N-Channel PowerTrench SyncFET **Introduction to the FDD6680AS Power MOSFET by Fairchild Semiconductor**

The FDD6680AS is a high-performance N-channel Power MOSFET designed by Fairchild Semiconductor (now part of ON Semiconductor) to deliver efficient power management in a wide range of applications. With a low on-resistance (RDS(on)) of 9.5 mΩ and a drain-source voltage (VDSS) rating of 30V, this MOSFET is optimized for high-current switching in power supplies, motor control, and DC-DC converters.

Featuring a compact TO-252 (DPAK) package, the FDD6680AS offers excellent thermal performance and power dissipation, making it suitable for space-constrained designs. Its fast switching characteristics and robust design ensure minimal power loss, enhancing overall system efficiency.

Key specifications include a continuous drain current (ID) of 50A and a gate charge (QG) of 40nC, which contribute to reduced switching losses in high-frequency applications. The device also incorporates advanced trench technology for improved reliability and performance under demanding conditions.

Engineers frequently select the FDD6680AS for its balance of efficiency, thermal management, and cost-effectiveness, making it a versatile choice for modern power electronics. Its compatibility with standard PCB layouts further simplifies integration into various circuit designs.
