DESCRIPTION/ORDERING INFORMATIONThe TPS62110isa low-noise synchronous step-down dc-dc converter thatis ideally suited for systems powered
froma 2-cell Li-ion batteryor froma 12-Vor 15-V rail.
The TPS62110isa synchronous PWM converter with integrated N-channel and P-channel power MOSFET
switches. Synchronous rectificationis usedto increase efficiency andto reduce external component count. To
achieve highest efficiency overa wide load current range, the converter entersa power-saving, pulse-frequency
modulation (PFM) modeat light load currents. Operating frequencyis typically1 MHz, allowing the useof small
inductor and capacitor values. The device can be synchronizedto an external clock signalin the rangeof 0.8
MHzto 1.4 MHz. For low noise operation, the converter can be operatedin PWM-only mode.In the shutdown
mode, the current consumptionis reducedto less than2µ A. The TPS62110is availablein the 16-pin (RSA)
QFN package and operates overa free-air temperature rangeof –40°Cto 125°C.
