DescriptionThe TPA2012D2a stereo, filter-free, Class-D audio
amplifier amp) availableina or
WQFN TPA2012D2 only requires two
external components operation.
The TPA2012D2 features independent shutdown
controls for each channel. The gain can be selected6, 12, 18,or 24 dB using the G0 and G1
select pins. High PSRR and differential
provide increased immunity to noise and RF
rectification.In additionto these features,a fast start- time and small package size make the
TPA2012D2 class-D amp an ideal choice for both
cellular handsets and PDAs.
The TPA2012D2is capableof driving 1.4 W/ChatVor 720 mW/Chat 3.6V into8Ω. The TPA2012D2 also capableof driving4 Ω. The TPA2012D2is
thermally limitedin DSBGA and may not achieve
2.1 W/Ch for4Ω. The maximum output powerin the
DSBGAis determined by the ability of the circuit
boardto remove heat. Figure 33 shows thermally
limited regionof the DSBGAin relationto the WQFN
package. The TPA2012D2 provides thermal and
short-circuit protection.
