TEST CIRCUIT
APPLICATION INFORMA TION

(referto theblock diagram) Signal Identification Circuit
The circuit recognizesonly TV signalsby checking
logically during one line the coincidence between
the horizontalflyback pulse and the pulse detecteda sync. separator.
The signal identificationis carried outby charging
the capacitor connectedto pin5; when the capaci-
tor voltage overcomesa fixedthreshold voltage,a
Schmitttrigger switches andenablesthe AFC con-
trol.Ifa TV signalis recognized, the capacitoris
slightly charged every line andits voltage reaches
the thresholdafter anumberof linewhichis defined the valueof the capacitor itself. The sensitivity the identification circuit, hence the numberof
lines requiredto charge the capacitor, canbe ad-
justedby meansofthe resistor connected between
pin11 and ground.
When the identification has been made,a signal
(levelL)is availableat pin 10.
Threshold Circuit

The circuit detects3 rangesof AFC voltage andin
combination with the TV signal identification circuit
drives the electronic switches.
Witha correct TV signal, the output levels corre-

The TDA4433 has two separate outputs which can
have only two states, high (H)or low (L). The
outputsat pin2 andat pin6 remainata low level
withno video signal inputor witha video signalnot
identifiedasa true TV signal. Both pin2 and pin6
are open collector outputs and mustbe pulled-up the positive supply voltageby external resistors.
Voltage Regulator

The circuit can deliver1 mAandit can be usedas
D/A converter referenceto supply fine tuning volt-
age.
