DESCRIPTION

The LPR30isa very Low Dropout Regulator
Controllerina single IC solution for very high
current low dropout linear voltgage regulator.It
usesan external N-CHANNEL POWER MOSFET the linear pass element. The LPR30 featuresa
dropout voltage as low as the RDS(on) of the

external Power MOSFET multipliedby the output
current. Consequently the output current can be high as the POWER MOSFET can provide
(also usingan adeguate heatsink).
The VCCof the LPR30 range from 5Vto 30V. For
very low drop voltage operation,the LPR30
requiresan external gate drive supplyto provide
the control voltage neededto drive the gateof the
externalPOWER MOSFET.
The regulator outputis constant-current limited
when the controller detects 50mV across an
externalsense resistor. has an internal high precision(± 2%) Voltage
Referenceat 2.5V
The output regulated voltage is possible to
programto any voltage from 1Vto more than
50V.
Flexible designis achievedby the availabilityof
the Voltage Reference Output through an
external pin (N.4) thatis ableto supply more than
20mAas load current. The LPR30is availablein pin plastic DIP andin SO-8 for SMD.In both
package versionsitis ableto operate from0o CtooC.
