General DescriptionThe LMX2353isa monolithic integrated fractionalN fre-
quency synthesizer, designedtobe usedina local oscillator
subsystemfora radio transceiver.Itis fabricated using Na-
tional’s 0.5μABiCV silicon BiCMOS process. The LMX2353
contains dual modulus prescalers along with modulo15or fractional compensation circuitryintheN divider.A 16/17 32/33 prescale ratio canbe selectedfor the LMX2353.
Usinga fractionalN phase locked loop technique, the
LMX2353 can generate very stable low noise control signals
for UHF and VHF voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs).
The LMX2353 hasa highly flexible16 level programmable
charge pump which supplies output current magnitudes from
100μAto1.6 mA. Two uncommitted CMOS outputs canbe
usedto provide external control signals,or configuredto
FastLock™ mode. Serial datais transferred into the
LMX2353viaa three wire interface (Data, LE, Clock). Supply
voltage can range from2.7Vto 5.5V. The LMX2353 fea-
tures verylow current consumption; typically5.5 mAat 3.0V.
The LMX2353is availableina 16-pin TSSOPora 16-pin
CSP surface mount plastic package.
