General Description
The LMX2326 familyof monolithic, integrated frequency
synthesizers,including prescalers,is designedto beusedto
generatea very stablelow noise signalfor controllingthe
local oscillatorofanRF transceiver.Itis fabricated using
National’s ABiCV silicon BiCMOS 0.5m process.
The LMX2326and LMX2316 containa 32/33 dual modulus
prescaler, whilethe LMX2306has a8/9prescaler ratio.The
LMX2326/16/06 employsa digital phase locked loop tech-
nique. When combinedwitha high quality reference oscilla-
torand loop filter,the LMX2326/16/06 providesthe feed-
back tuning voltagefora voltage controlled oscillatorto
generatealow phase noise local oscillator signal. Serial
datais transferredintothe LMX2326/16/06viaa threewire
interface (Data, Enable, Clock). Supply voltage can range
from 2.3Vto 5.5V. The LMX2326 family features ultralow
current consumption; LMX2326-3.5mAat3V, LMX2316-mAat3V, LMX2306-1.2mAat3V.
The LMX2326/16/06 synthesizersare availableina 16-pin
TSSOP surface mount plastic package.
