General DescriptionThe LM2792isa CMOS charge-pump voltage doubler and
regulator that provides two regulated current sources. They
are designedto drive two white(or blue) LEDs with matched
currents (within± 0.3%)to produce balanced light sources
for display backlights. The LM2792 acceptsan input voltage
range from 3.0Vto 5.8V and maintaina constant current
determinedbyan externalset resistor.
The LM2792 deliversupto 34mAof load currentto accom-
modate two high forward voltage (typically white) LEDs. The
switching frequencyis 900kHz (min.)to keepthe conducted
noise spectrum away from sensitive frequencies within por-
tableRF devices.
The LM2792 offers full offto maximum current control
throughthe BRGT pin. The output current linearly tracksthe
BRGTpin voltage. The LM2792is availablein active highor
low shutdown versions. The shutdownpin reduces the op-
erating currentto 1µA (max.).
The LM2792is availableina10 pin leadless leadframe
(LLP) CSP package.
