General DescriptionThe LM2715isa compact bias solutionfor TFT displays.It
hasa current mode PWM step-up DC/DC converter witha
1.3A, 0.18Ω internal switch. Capableof generating 8Vat
240mA froma Lithium Ion battery, the LM2715is idealfor
generating bias voltagesfor large screen LCD panels. The
LM2715 operatesata switching frequencyof 1.25MHzal-
lowingfor easy filtering and low noise.An external compen-
sationpin givesthe user flexibilityin setting frequency com-
pensation, which makes possiblethe useof small, low ESR
ceramic capacitorsat the output. The LM2715 usesa pat-
ented internal circuitryto limit startup inrush currentof the
boost switching regulator without the useofan external
softstart capacitor. The LM2715 hasan internal controllable
PMOS switch usedfor controlling the row driver voltages.
The switch canbe controlled externally witha controlpin and
delay time. The LM2715 containsa Vcom amplifier anda
Gamma buffer capableof supplying 50mA source and sink.
The TSSOP-16 package ensuresa low profile overall solu-
tion.
