General DescriptionThe ’ACT715/LM1882and ’ACT715-R/LM1882-Rare 20-pin
TTL-input compatible devices capableof generating Hori-
zontal, Verticaland Composite Syncand Blank signalsfor
televisions andmonitors.All pulse widthsare completelyde-
finablebythe user. The devicesare capableof generating
signalsfor both interlaced and noninterlaced modesofop-
eration. Equalizationand serration pulsescan beintroduced
intothe Composite Sync signal when needed.
Four additional signalscan alsobe made available when
Composite Syncor Blankare used. These signalscanbe
usedto generate horizontalor vertical gating pulses, cursor
positionor vertical Interrupt signal.
These devices makeno assumptions concerningthe system
architecture. Line rateand field/frame ratearealla functionthe values programmedintothe data registers,the status
register,andthe input clock frequency.
The ’ACT715/LM1882is mask programmedto defaulttoa
Clock Disable state.Bit10 ofthe StatusRegister, Register0,
defaultstoa logic“0”. This facilitates (re)programmingbe-
fore operation.
The ’ACT715-R/LM1882-Risthe sameasthe ’ACT715/
LM1882inall respects except that the ’ACT715-R/
LM1882-Ris mask programmedto defaulttoa ClockEn-
abled state.Bit10ofthe Status Register defaultstoa logic
“1”. Although completely (re)programmable,the ’ACT715-R/
LM1882-R versionis better suitedfor applications usingthe
default 14.31818 MHz RS-170 register values. This feature
allows power-up directly into operation, followinga single
CLEAR pulse.
