ADJUSTABLE VOLTAGE REGULATORS
DESCRIPTION

The LD1086isa LOW DROP Voltage Regulator
ableto provide upto 1.5Aof Output Current.
Dropoutis guaranteedata maximumof 1.5Vat
the maximum output current, decreasing at
lower loads. The LD1086isa pin compatible
with older 3-terminal adjustable regulators, but
has better performancesin term of drop and
output tolerance.A 2.85V output version is
suitable for SCSI-2 active termination. Unlike
PNP regulators, wherea part of the output
current is wasted as quiescent current, the
LD1086 quiescent current flow into the load,so
increase efficency. Onlya 10 μF minimum
capacitoris needed for stability. The deviceis
supplied in TO-220, D2 PAK, D2 PAK/A and
DPAK packages. On chip trimming allows the
regulatorto reacha very tight output voltage
tolerance, within± 1%at25oC.
