DESCRIPTION

The HCC40101B (extended temperature range)
and HCF40101B (intermediate temperature range)
are monolithic integrated circuits, availablein 14-
lead dual in-line plasticor ceramic package and
plastic micro package.
The HCC/HCF40101Bisa 9-bit(8 data bits plus1
parity bit) parity generator/checker.It maybe used detect errorsin data transmissionor data retrie-
val. Odd and even outputs facilitate oddor even
parity generation and checking. When usedasa
parity generator,a paritybitis supplied along with
the datato generate an evenor odd parity output.
When useda parity checker, the received data bits
and parity bits are compared for correct parity. The
evenor odd outputs are usedto indicate an errorin
the received data. Word-length capabilityis expan-
dableby cascading. The HCC/HCF40101Bis also
provided withan inhibit control.If the inhibit control
