DescriptionThe DAC7760 and DAC8760 are low-cost, precision,
fully-integrated, 12-bit and 16-bit digital-to-analog
converters (DACs) designed to meet the
requirements of industrial process-control
applications. These devices can be programmedasa
current output witha rangeof4 mAto 20 mA,0 mA 20 mA,or0 mAto 24 mA;or asa voltage output
witha rangeof0Vto5V,0Vto 10V, ±5V,or
±10V witha 10% overrange(0Vto 5.5V,0VtoV, ±5.5V,or ±11 V). Both current and voltage
outputs can be simultaneously enabled while being
controlledbya single data register.
These devices includea power-on-reset functionto
ensure poweringupina known state (both IOUT and
VOUT are disabled andina Hi-Z state). The CLR
and CLR-SEL pins set the voltage outputsto zero-
scaleor midscale, and the current outputto the low
endof the range,if the outputis enabled. Zero and
gain registers can be programmed to digitally
calibrate the devicein the end system. The output
slew rateis also programmable by register. These
devices can superimpose an external HART® signal the current output and can operate with eithera
single 10-Vto 36-V supply,or dual suppliesof upto
±18 V. All versions are availablein both 6-mm×
6-mm 40-pin VQFN and 24-pin HTSSOP packages.
