DESCRIPTION

The bq2944xisa secondary overvoltage protectionIC for 2-series, 3-series,or 4-series cell Li-Ion battery packs
that incorporatesa high-accuracy precision overvoltage detection circuit.
FUNCTION

The voltageof each cellina battery packis comparedto an internal reference voltage.If any cells reach an
overvoltage condition, the bq2944x device startsa timer that providesa delay proportionalto the capacitanceon
the CD pin. Upon expirationof the internal timer, the OUT pin changes froma low statetoa high state. An
optional latch configurationis available that holds the OUT pinina high state indefinitely after an overvoltage
condition has satisfied the specified delay timer period. The latchis released when the CD pinis shortedto GND.
