The AVS12 kitis an automatic mains selector
(110/220V AC)tobe usedin SMPS< 500 W.Itis
composedof2 devices: The Controlleris optimized for lowconsumption and high security triggeringof the
triac. When connectedto VSS, the mode inputactivatesan additional option.If the main
power drops from 220Vto 110V, the triaccontrol remains lockedto the 220V mode and
avoids any high voltage spike when the voltage restoredto 220V.When connectedto VDD, the mode input
desactivates this option. The TRIACis specially designedfor this
application.An optimization between sensitivityand dynamic parametersof the triac gate highly
reduces the lossesof supply resistor and allowsexcellent immunity against disturbances.
