General Description
The ’VHC393isan advanced high speed CMOS 4-bit Binary
Counter fabricated with silicon gate C2MOS technology.It
achievesthe high speed operation similarto equivalentBi-
polar Schottky TTL while maintainingthe CMOSlow power
dissipation.It containstwo indepedent counter circuitsin
one package,so that countingor frequency divisionof8
binarybitscanbe achieved withoneIC. This device chang- stateonthe negative going transitionofthe CLOCK
pulse. Thecountercanbe resetto‘‘0’’(Q0–Q3e ‘‘L’’)bya
highatthe CLEAR input regardlessof other inputs. input protection circuit ensures that0Vto7Vcanbe
appliedtothe input pins without regardtothe supply volt-
age. This devicecanbe usedto interface5Vto3V systems
and twosupply systemssuchas batterybackup. This circuit
prevents device destructiondueto mismatched supplyand
input voltages.
